  1. How strong is the fabric on an AAKRON inflatable boat?

It's made from Korean manufactured Akronyl 1100 decitex reinforced  (nearly 1mm) thick polymer composite fabric reinforced with terylene. WE ONLY SPECIFY KOREAN FABRIC. The Korean fabric is substantially stronger and won't bulge when it gets hot or when up to working pressure. Its especially made for the job and 100,000's of inflatable boats are made from it each year. It is very hard to puncture with anything less than a sharp knife. NB: Some manufactuers use 1000 decitex. Its only 10% lighter but it is lighter. Our river rafts are nearly 2mm thick so you see its important.

  2. How hard is it to repair an inflatable pontoon if I do cut it?

Easy! You get a repair kit and instructions with each boat so you can generally do the repairs yourself. For major damage you may need to take it to a specialist shop and there's one in most main centres. Fish hook holes can normally be repaired invisibly. Contact us for a repair agent near you.

  3. What's the best way to get a long life out of my inflatable?
Just keep it out of the sun and weather when not in use. Store it clean, in a cool, dry place out of the weather over winter. We have high quality sun covers available and recommend their use whenever you have to leave outdoors for any length of time.

  4. How many separate air chambers will my inflatable have?
All of our boats have three chambers plus the small inflatable keel in the Beachmaster series.

  5. Are the pontoon seams glued or welded?
Until the long term performance of welded joints is proven we're sticking to our German two pack urethane glue. If you force it apart it generally tears the fabric before letting go, and you cant get any better than that.

  6. Do I need a short or long shaft outboard motor?

All of our Rollup Sport Boats require a short shaft motor.

  7. How long does it take to assemble the Sport inflatable keel models?
The first time 15 to 20 minutes depending mostly on whether you have a high speed pump (a vacuum cleaner in blow mode is ideal). Once you've done it a couple of times you should only take 7 to 10 minutes. We supply clear instructions with every inflatable. We also hihgly recommend and sell a small 12 volt high speed inflater pump. It makes for very quick inflation and the deflation times. (less than 1 minute in some cases). It will take longer if you use the standrd foot pump.

  8. How many accessories to you have?

All of the boats come with Oars, Seat, Foot pump, Carry/storage bag(s), Repair kit and manual and we also offer a 12volt high speed inflator pump (you may have one at home already) as well as products from Davis Marine, West Marine and other vendors to make using your inflatable easier, safer and more fun.
